Asking if the sun is cold

1. When someone asks a yes or no question so dumb that it genuinely shocks everyone around.

2. When someone makes a statement that can be easily disproven.

Jimmy: pointing at a girl he likes, a lesbian pin on her bag. “Do you think she actually would like me back?”
Evan: “You’re Asking if the sun is cold, Jimmy.”
