A term used to describe a particular piece of smug, over-the-top, excessive or needlessly flashy piece of art or metaphor designed to convey a simplistic or obvious message in a needlessly 'wowy' way.
The term is derived from 'Thanks Mr Bansky'(referring to the artist of that name) to create the phrase 'thank mr banky', but simplified with poor spelling and lack of proper grammar to better reflect the snarky nature of the term.
"This piece of art is very banky"
"The message is obvious, this is just a banky image"
(In response to a banky image) "Thank mr banky"

In South Africa, one usually buys weed by the bankie. A bankie is the amount of weed that will fit in a bank coin bag (weed is not necessarily sold in a bank bag, but it is the most common container)

The free market capitalist equivalent of a tankie. A fan of Austrian School Economics, free trade, unrestricted capitalism, libertarianism, and possibly Anarcho-Capitalism.
The world would be so much better if every country adopted Austrian Economics and got rid of the welfare state.

A Bankie, in the Irish definition, is one that hangs around Central Bank on Dublin's Dame Street. Generally perceived as the rough-and-tumble of society, they tend to be a mix of scene, punk, mod, skinhead and metalheads, fond of a good knock(beat-down) Central Bank is their stomping ground, congregating in their masses on weekends and public holidays, passing around naggins of vodka, and bags of weed occasionally

"Bankis" is a word that means whatever you want it to mean. Literally WHATEVER you want, just make your tone of voice match the message you want to put across.
Person 1: I bet that class is boring for you.
Person 2: Yeah, it's bankis.
Person 1: I bet your day was good today.
Person 2: Yeah it was bankis.
You can use it in any instance.
