Once the High Elven homeland of Quel'Thalas was desroyed by the death knight Arthas and the necromancer/lich Kel'Thuzad, the High Elves broke off from the Alliance and called themselves the Blood Elves.
Hey why doesn't someone make a map where Blood Elves are a race?

AKA "sin'dorei." The Horde's elves in World of Warcraft; high elves who became addicted to magical energy. Small and fragile-looking, with pale or ruddy complexions and glowing green eyes. Notable for being the only Horde race that can be paladins.
Often reviled for their mincing, languid animations, their snotty voice emotes, and the fact that they often pirouette when jumping.
"I only have one blood elf character, and he's a paladin."

A horde race from World of Warcraft that was added in the Burning Crusade expansion. Close relatives of the night elves. They were once one race, yet split off after the events of the original Warcraft to pursue their corrput arcane arts, while the night elves chose to forsake the magic that had nearly ripped the world in two and study druidic magic. They were known as the Highborn until their capital of Quel'Thalas was destroyed by an undead army, leading them to rename themselves the blood elves in remembrance of the blood they spilled defending their homeland. They fled to Outland to escape the scourge circa Warcraft III The Frozen Throne, where they established a base of operations.
Comparing a blood elf to Zoolander is an insult to male models everywhere.

A race of elves also known as Sindorei, in allegiance with the Horde faction, that became playable in the MMORPG World of Warcraft after the Burning Crusade Expansion. Their once magical kingdom Quel'Thalas was turned to ruins by the undead Scourge, led by the evil death knight Arthas, when they destroyed the mystical Sunwell the elves relied on for their arcane power. Their made their new home in Silvermoon City which is located in Eversong Forest.
Job classes available to this race are Hunter, Mage, Warlock, Priest, Rogue, and Paladin. If you want to be a Paladin under the Horde faction, expect your character's race to be Blood Elf as they are the ONLY race in the Horde faction that can take up the Paladin job class.
Their appearance is pale and frail compared to the other races of WoW and they have glowing green eyes. Because of their beautiful complexions they are often the butt of jokes in a party with other races. Many will despise your character's snotty emotes and will make fun of the way he or she dances. Also you will be kicked out of totem dance parties by Shaman class group members.
In Aqua Teen Hunger Force episode called Bus of the Undead, Master Shake describes something similar to a blood elf that he calls the bus of the undead which he defines as a reverse vampire. He had the following to say about the reverse vampires.
"Hes a reverse vampire, they crave the sun.
They love it. They love to get tans."
"The wheels, those are the markings"
He also said they are from Tansylvania.
Blood elves crave the sunwell and live in a kingdom bathed in light, and they are also often seen riding hawkstriders. A blood elf hunter also prefers cats over bats unlike their nocturnal brethren. So it can be said that they are reverse vampires.
1. Blood Elf Hunter: dances with Tauren Shaman
Tauren Shaman: "ur dancing is gay. no blood elves aloud in totem dance party."
Other Tauren Shaman: "hey do you blood elves suck coxs?"
Blood Elf Hunter: "No, but my cat Humar likes to rip them apart with his claws"
2. Blood Elf: I'm a reverse vampire I crave the sunwell.
