on the cross

behaving as though you're a martyr, the victim of an injustice, and doing it in a self-righteous way, as though you're the only one who has suffered
(the phrase is a sarcastic reference to Jesus being on the cross, the idea being "You think you're an innocent victim, like Jesus on the cross? Who do you think you are?")

situation: Person A has been trying to set up a conversation with Person B, to have a conversation about an important issue that affects a family member (Person C), but Person B has been attacking Person A for his faults, instead of focusing on understanding the family member's challenge - Person B is putting himself "on the cross" instead of helping to solve the problem
"Who do you think you are? Is this about my faults, or are we talking about helping Person C? You give me a call when you get off the cross, and we'll talk more then. Meanwhile, I'll get to work on my own."
