When someone deliberately and whole heartedly does something petty, stupid, or cruel in full view of others and try to cover for it with random nonsense or actions to cover for the deliberately bad action.

Bob lied to his sister about being sick on Friday and missing work, the only recourse was to tell her he had instead attended the Dolphin Prom, and that she was crazy for not remembering it.
