"feeding the machine" is when you put money in a vending machine or arcade game or any other coin operated device and you get "ripped off".
Jaime:"Awww, dude, this pinball machine just ate my last quarter."
Pete:"Looks like you just feed the machine, man."

When you make tons of money but you spend all of it, most of it, or have an excessive amount of monthly notes.
It sure is nice to work with my hands and I sure make tons of money but my wife sure loves to feed the machine.
