Friendship Lagoon

A lingering, often irreversible situation in a budding relationship in which an eligible partner's attempts at seeking a mate are rebuffed or denied because of his or her failure to make it past friendship.

Dick - "Hey so whats up with you and Kate, are you screwing or what?"

Sam - "I was too slow to ask her out, and now we are stuck in friendship lagoon."
