A tropical fruit. It's found in the Carribean, and I've only had it on St. Thomas. It's a bit smaller than a golf ball, has a thin, tough green skin, and there is a pit on the inside. It grows during hurricane season (summer) and can be picked at the end of hurricane season (september). It tastes like a combination of a lime and a peach.

There are gnips growing on that tree, let's go pick some!
