Gling gling is a play on the phrase bling bling and is short for "geek bling bling", first coined by science fiction writer Christopher Vera. Gling gling are those small items geeks carry in their possession, sometimes on a lanyard, including but not limited to, company ID badges, thumb drives, SecurID tokens, pens, pagers, cell phones or pocket lasers. Gling gling also refers to the freebies lying arounds one's desk received from attending computer seminars, conventions, or from vendors, including logoed pens, coffee mugs, post-it pads or foam trinkets.

Dang, that geek is wearing a lot of gling gling.
