Heart of Asia

A nickname given to Afghanistan (and used by them) because the country is located at the very crossroads of east-west, north-south, on the Asian continent.

"You see that country there? It's sandwiched between the Indian Subcontinent, Iran, post-Soviet Central Asia, and China/Tibet. They call it the heart of Asia."
