Hozayin Clause

Even if a person does not explicity break one of the rules listed here, staff members still reserve the right to punish someone for damaging the health of the chat. This can be all manner of things, and is down to individual moderator interpretation.

Hozayin Clause

The Hoyazin Clause is a clause/rule in online communities, originating on the popular social app "Discord".

The original clause states: "Even if a person does not explicity break one of the rules listed here, staff members still reserve the right to punish someone for damaging the health of the chat. This can be all manner of things, and is down to individual moderator interpretation." Later versions of the clause will typically include a spell check to the word "explicity", correcting it to "explicitly".

Historical context: Ex-owner roygbiv#7628 from the blÄhaj Discord (discord.gg/blahaj) banned user Hozayin#7999 for "being shitty" despite not explicitly breaking any rules. This appears to be known as "The Hozayin Clause Incident". From this incident came the full-fledged rule. Interestingly, both the ex-owner roygbiv and user Hozayin are no longer in said Discord server.

User 1: "I heard danielsalt was banned - why's that?"
User 2: "Dunno, he was a bit of a prick though - probably the Hozayin Clause".
