IFB

A listening device, regularly used by TV news or talk show moderators, that provides the moderator with a steady stream of audio guidance from the show's producer.

In this usage, the letters IFB refer to "Interference-Free Band", which is the wireless communications band over which such devices operate.

Example:

When responding to a claim made by a white house representative Chris Cuomo said, adjusting his earpiece: “That blew the IFB right out of my head.”

IFB

stands for Interference-Free Band, a range of radio frequencies used for cuing devices where many other radio signals could interfere with clear communication

George Bush needs an IFB to communicate, especially where he might need to answer intelligent questions. Without his IFB, he'd be cueless.
