Intellectual Prostitute

Any mainstream media journalist. As coined by John Swinton, former chief of staff, The New York Times, in a 1953 speech before the New York Press Club.

"We are the tools and vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks, they pull the strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities, and our lives are all the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."

That journalist never says what they really think because they are an intellectual prostitute.

Intellectual Prostitute

Attractive but stupid and morally bankrupt women like Michelle Bachman, Sarah Palin, and Anne Coulter, who work for the Republican and Tea Parties making unjustice sound just.

You could call Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh "intellectual prostitutes" but that would demean decent, hard working gigolos and male hookers.

Intellectual Prostitute

One who sells use of their mind, similarly to how a prostitute sells use of their body.

"Do you have any prior experience working at a library or with children?"
"No, but I was an intellectual prostitute for a few years before I applied here."
"A what?"
