Jerk lurking – or Jerk Lurkin’ describes a behavior, especially in an office or business environment, of a person who does not understand the natural queues of a conversation, personal space or common courtesies of their co-workers, peers or business associates.
Jerk lurking includes, but is not limited to: Lingering in a conversation long after it has ended, standing behind someone’s desk watching what they are doing when they don’t know you’re there, standing too near to someone even after seeing it has made them noticeably uncomfortable and not moving, staring at people from your desk while they work.
"I was talking to Phil about a project today. I put my head phones on and he was still behind me nodding his head for at least 60 seconds after the conversation was over. That was a pretty serious jerk lurk."

Cool Guy: "Hey man whats up?"
Idiot Guy: "Nothin...just gazing into the distance"
Cool Guy: "Can you do it somewhere else? You are uncomfortably close to me right now...for no reason."
Idiot Guy: <still standing there. doesn't move>
Cool Guy: "YO MAN, YOU'RE FUCKIN JERK LURKIN RIGHT NOW AND IT'S PISSIN ME OFF!"
Idiot Guy: <nods. doesn't catch on>
Cool Guy: <shakes head. puts earbuds back in and proceeds to work>
