Jersey lady

Jersey lady: Subcategory of the Jersey girl. Basically, a Jersey girl from West Long Branch, Rumson, or other New Jersey towns that consider themselves more upper-middle or upper-class than some of the grittier subdefinitions of the term "Jersey girl" would allow for, at least in the minds of the non-Jerseyite who is not familiar with all the nuances of Jerseydom. Alternatively, a woman who otherwise fits the definition of 'Jersey girl' (regardless of her town of residence) but considers the term "girl" applied to an adult woman to be sexist and therefore offensive.

"A Jersey girl got more sass; a Jersey lady got more class; but they both got plenty o' both when the chips really start hittin' the fan."
