When there is a character in a movie that is forced into a position where the audience can say “it’s not his fault, it’s society’s fault for making him like this”

Person 1: I feel like he deserves to get away scot free as society made him into that way
Person 2: Dude he literally killed a celebrity on National Television. I think you fell victim to the Joker Effect
