Liadain is an Irish name meaning grey lady. It was also the name of a ninth-century Irish poetess who fell in love with a native poet named Cuirithir. They were together for one night and then went their separate ways, until years later they met again. However, during this time Liadain became a nun and they could not longer be together. Cuirithir was banned for breaking chastity and Liadain died of a broken heart.
Liadain is an incredibly beautiful, strong and wise woman.
