progressive christian

Progressive Christianity is developed from liberal Christianity, they believe that God is the powerful and loving creator of the universe every galaxy, stars, planet and every living thing on earth.
They believe the Bible should be taken seriously but not literally and should be read to guide your moral conscience, they also think it's important to understand the historical context around the bible.
Some of them believe that although Christianity is their path to God, it's not the only one and it's different for everybody, it could be Islam for one person, Hinduism for another, and even Atheist have their path to God simply by being good people.
They support Gay rights, They're Pro-choice and Pro Sexuality and they don't reject science.

Although most Conservative/ fundamentalist Christians will tell you to ignore your feeling, Progressives believe it's important to not ignore them and always try to do whats right.

Most of them take care in the environment and others. we are to look after Gods creation including ourself and others.
And let me tell you no one hate progressive Christians more than Christians. they get called the Antichrist, false preachers, devils advocates, Heresy, "what's worse than an atheist, a progressive Christian", they're going to hell and whatnot.

A Christian who constantly preaches that God loves every single person whether they are a part of the lgbtq+ community, whether they've had abortion whether they don't believe in God ... is most likely a progressive Christian

Cool people who, unlike their fundamentalist counterparts, don't need to turn their backs on modern science to keep their faith alive
The famous Jewish philosopher Maimonides once said that if science conflicts with Scripture, then it must be Scripture we have misunderstood.
It's sad these words of wisdom died out so long ago

Since creationists are likely to disagree with the idea that modern science like evolution is sufficiently supported, I'll go ahead and quote the renowned biologist Douglas Futuyma,

"The statement that organisms have descended with modifications from common ancestors—the historical reality of evolution—is not a theory. It is a fact, as fully as the fact of the earth's revolution about the sun."

Theodosius Dobzhansky had this to say in his famous paper "Nothing in Biology Makes Sense Except in the Light of Evolution",

"I am a creationist and an evolutionist. Evolution is God's, or Nature's method of creation. Creation is not an event that happened in 4004 BC; it is a process that began some 10 billion years ago and is still under way."

He also wrote,

"Does the evolutionary doctrine clash with religious faith? It does not. It is a blunder to mistake the Holy Scriptures for elementary textbooks of astronomy, geology, biology, and anthropology. Only if symbols are construed to mean what they are not intended to mean can there arise imaginary, insoluble conflicts. ...the blunder leads to blasphemy: the Creator is accused of systematic deceitfulness."

Liberal/progressive Christians do not believe in a deceiving God. They know that, considering the overwhelming amount of evidence for evolution, to deny it would be equivalent to denying the existence of ancient Rome or Greece.

Progressive Christian

A person who makes stuff up using faith just like evangelicals, but by appropriating humanist values and then proceeds to give all the credit to Jesus. Progressive Christians like to talk about deconstruction to help distance themselves from evangelicals, but they're also known for being deconstruction gatekeepers at the same time. They'll say deconstruction is okay as long as you keep your faith in Jesus by the end of your journey.

"Some of y'all have deconstructed so much that you're rejoicing when someone tosses his faith away. Not here for that." - Progressive Christian
