Majula

From the arabic word "مهجورة Mahjoula" (deserted or abandoned place). It's a coastal town in the game Dark Souls II which will serve as the world hub and homebase of the player. Though you may find some NPCs there, the town is a desolate place thus the name.

"Majula is often referred to as a garbage dump"
"The exiles of Drangleic were often sent Majula, which is why all the shacks and houses are so run down."
