Muad'Dib is the fictional character from the Frank Herbert science fiction work "Dune". Muad'Dib is the Fremen name for a desert mouse, an animal revered for it's persistance on the dunes of Arrakis.
The character Paul Atreides adopts this name as his Fremen title. The Fremen are pleased with his choice, because it was prohepsied that Dune's Messiah would bear the name "Muad'Dib".
My name is Muad'Dib, and I have come to free your people.

A genocidal mass-murderer who is blind to the consequences of his actions that stretch across space and time, and literally blind. Also known as an apocalyptic messiah.
That asshole who shot up the grocery store was a real Muad'Dib.
