(Noun) when one or more people are engaged in a task where no further assistance is required but another party offers assistance that contributes nothing to the completion of said task.

(Man 1 and man 2 are lifting a box onto a shelf)
Third party: do you guys need help
Man 1: no we've got it.

(Third party places a hand on the box as it is placed on the shelf)
Man 2: thanks for the Rich Assist.
