second goodbye

The awkward goodbye that occurs when you've already said goodbye to someone but circumstances dictate a second goodbye, often accompanied with an awkward hug or handshake

FIRST GOODBYE
Person #1: Goodbye! I'll see you in a week!
Person #2: Okay, bye! Have fun!
*hug*

...10 minutes later
SECOND GOODBYE
Person #1: Bye again.
Person #2: All right, see you later. Maybe this is the last goodbye.
*awkward half-assed hug*

where you'll say goodbye to somebody, but end up staying and talking even longer, thus starting a "second goodbye"

ricky and nichole have made it past the second goodbye and up to about a ten-goodbye
