Siemens charger

The Siemens Chargers are a family of high-performance, energy-efficient diesel-electric locomotives designed by Siemens Mobility for passenger rail services, featuring advanced technology, low emissions, and compliance with EPA Tier 4 standards with their engine the Cummins QSK95 a 95 liter V16 that makes around 4000 to 4200 horsepower depending on the model. With Tractive Effort of 65,000 Lbf starting and 62,000 Lbf continuing. And there are some models of the chargers: the ALC-42 for Amtrak long distance routes, SCB-40 for Brightline, SCV-42 for Via Rail Canada, SC-42DM dual mode locomotives for Metro North and LIRR, and SC-44 for most commuter rail companies. The Charger locomotives were first introduced in 2016. The locomotive shares much of its overall design with the Siemens Vectron diesel and electric locomotives used in Europe and the Siemens ACS-64 electric locomotive built for Amtrak in the electrified Northeast corridor and keystone Corridor

Gina: So what is you favorite model of the Siemens Charger Locomotive?.

Ollie: I like the ALC-42 and the metro north SC-42DM chargers, I like the looks of these chargers.
