Spanish Honor

A personality trait in which an individual is hyper-sensitive to perceived threats to his personal honor or repute. He is obsessed with accomplishing every effort in the perfect manner. He holds himself to a high personal standard and will not divert from it for any reason. He will do whatever it takes to satisfy his need to maintain a high level of social importance and adherence to his behavioral code. The mere suggestion of ill-repute or dishonor is the greatest insult one can give.

"That guy has such a case of Spanish Honor! He could have just shot him dead, right there, but instead accepted a sword-fight. So honorable, so stupid..."

Prince Caspian from the Narnia series and Bonzo Madrid from the Ender's Game series are literary examples.
