Switched the cups

It's an old movie trope (One example of which is the movie "The Princess Bride") where someone tries to poison someone else by pouring 2 cups of the same drink and poisoning the cup intended for the other person. The person being poisoned "switches the cups" and turns the tables on the poisoner.

Evil poisoner gerl "Here. Let's have a drink."

Iam "Oh, hey, sure."

*Both drink*

Evil poisoner gerl "Ack! What's happening!?"

Hym "Oh, oops... I switched the cups... I switch things around sometimes. In my head and otherwise. Oops.."

Iam "Maybe Cain caught Abel switching the cups Perhaps the Sin Cain allowed to "have it's way with him” was deceit. He let the false idol he worshipped deceive him and switch the cups. 'Every single time I make a sacrifice it's the wrong one?' he'd ask himself. If he was the one stealing the sacrifices how would he not know why they weren't being accepted? And maybe that's why he wasn't punished. Because if you are willing to Sin against me; why should I not Sin against you? And that's why the retaliatory violence always escalates 7 fold. That's where the feedback loop started. The snake eating it's own tail. Because (at the time) there were only 9 Sins and There were only 4 people. And no one had ever killed anyone before. Which Sin was it and what makes you think Abel was the good one?"
