Taur

Taur is a word to describe centaur-like creatures. Taurs can have human upper-halves or anthro-animal-like upper halves, but the lower part of their bodies will always be some kind of animal or quadruped being with an upper humanoid torso.

Taurs are popular in fantasy settings but have also found popularity in the Furry fandom as well.

Taurs are an interesting blend of a feral and anthro animals.

Taur-nu-Fuin

Later name for Dorthonion, after its conquest by the armies of Morgoth. At the time it bore the name, it was a desolate forest from which people and animals had fled, inhabited only by wandering bands of Morgoth's monsters and orcs.

It was a plateau raised above ground, and may have survived the flooding of Beleriand as the island of Tol Fuin.
