Pink Floyd Effect

(Also known as the Pink Floyd Stare) A physical and mental state of spiritual awe one gets when listening to the music of Pink Floyd. Similar to the effects of hallucinogens.

Jon was listening to Echoes when he started staring blankly at a wall. He was experiencing a Pink Floyd Effect.

When an issue becomes so prevalent and talked about whilst another issue is going on simultaneously that everyone forgets about the first issue, only for it to come back and become worse than what it ever was. Named after George Floyd, a man killed due to police brutality resulting in protests and riots across america during a pandemic, resulting in the pandemic becoming worse than it ever was before.

The George Floyd Effect

The sudden massive influx of interracial relationships (usually with a black male and a white female) used in advertisements, various media outlets, and in peoples' personal lives since June of 2020.

"It's the George Floyd Effect, man."

The Floyd Effect

Short for "The George Floyd Effect". When a population has an extreme reaction to an isolated incident involving only a few people out of hundreds of millions of people, usually due to media focus and sensationalization.

After further research into the issue, I feel that the widespread protests and violence are yet another great example of The Floyd Effect.
