trainspotting

As above: shoooting up heoroin or the like. Called so because a session will leave a dark linear mark (known as a "track") at the site of the affected vein. Harcore users will tend to have multiple sites of injection and will locate, or "spot" an optimum vein - one with minimal "tracks" and discomfort or infection. A hit can be analogous to the impactof a locomotive or train.
That's how I figure it anyway.

Watch the damn movie. It rocks. try reading the book - the narration is spelled with a scotish accent all the way through.

An incredible movie that will blow your mind. I'm not allowed to put the entire quote into the "example", so I'll put the first half into the definition section. Too many "choose"s, apparently.

Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics.

Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourself.
Choose your future. Choose life. โ€ฆBut why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life: I chose something else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who need reasons when you've got heroin?

trainspotting:

v: The act of staring over a DJ's shoulder to see what records he's spinning..

Originated from the British phenomenon of train geeks waiting on train platforms, notebooks in hand, recording the types and numbers of trains coming into the station.

Also the name of a famous book by Irvine Welsh in 1993, later made into a much more famous movie in 1996 by the same name. The word at the time referred to dance music geek culture, but was about the wasting of Scottish heroin addicts.

"I went to the club last night to hit on this bad-ass DJ chick, but the records she brought were amazing, so I just sat near her at the decks trainspotting them all night!"

Great British film about people taking heroin and their struggle to get off it. Contains best quote ever. Was also filmed outside of my school who were a bit pissed off once they realised it was about taking drugs.

Trainspotting rules. Begbie is a legend.

trainspotting

Listening to or observing a mixed set of tracks. DJs and clubbers who tend to observe and analyze the method and sound of the DJ are known as trainspotters.

The records skipped in the club because there were so many trainspotters crowding around and shoving in the booth.

standing in front of a dj while they're playing a set in order to find out every detail of the record they're playing. this is done so a person can go out and buy said record then play like they found it on their own.

DJ: Dude, stop trainspotting my records! Can't you find some to buy on your own?

To destroy a bathroom with violent crapping.

Dude, what the hell happened in there? Nothing, had a bad chunk of fish for breakfast and had to do some trainspotting.
