whatsername

'Whatsername' is said to be the girlfriend of St-Jimmy/The Jesus Of Suburbia.

The character of St. Jimmy features prominently in the remainder of the album. His story continues as he meets and begins a relationship with "Whatsername", in the songs She's a Rebel and Extraordinary Girl. His strong feelings for Whatsername create a conflict within himself, between his new lifestyle and his responsibilities.

After getting close with Whatsername, there is an eventual breakup. In Letterbomb he is reminded of his duties to fight for the city. He then recounts his deeds and eventually disposes of the St. Jimmy persona in Homecoming.
"Nobody likes you, everyone left you, they're all out without you, having fun," is Whatsername taunting Jesus Of Suburbia, and writing him a goodbye letter. This motif later shows up in the end of the medley of "Homecoming." She explains that Jesus Of Suburbia doesn't care enough.

whatsername

One of the main characters in Green Day's American Idiot. She is the object of Jesus of Suburbia's affection. Basically, just a bizzyotch who is known 'from Chicago to Toronto' as a girl who ain't gonna take it and wants to bring about 'revolution' and 'liberation'.

She's a rebel/She's a saint/She's the salt of the earth/And she's dangerous.....Is she the mother of all bombs?/Gonna detonate.

She's all alone again/Wiping the tears from her eyes.

whatsername

An excellent song by green day. In my opinion, second best on American Idiot. Refers to a chick the character went out with, but only remembers her face, hence "whatsername"

Forgetting you, but not the time.

Rebel Whatsername

A rebellious punk that guys fall in love with.
A central character in Green Day's "American Idiot" album. Jesus of Suburbia's alter ego, with a more punked up attitude, St Jimmy, falls in love with her.

"She's a rebel, she's a saint, she's the salt of the Earth and she's dangerous!"

"She's a symbol, of resistance, and she's holdin' on my heart like a hand-granade!"

"I can recall the face, but I can't recall the name.. I wonder how "Whatsername" has been?"
