A new type of social media where at random, you're given two minutes each day to capture a BeReal and 'live in the moment.' No filters and stuff like followers doesn't matter. Most people's BeReals are of them doing boring everyday shit, which is kinda the point of the app.

A girl who takes a BeReal and then posts it to her ig to tag all her mates in it on there as well. Does it as soon as it goes off to seem real and as a result feels as though they always have to be seen to be socialising. Uses it to fan envy from her followers who don’t have her private. Asks other people to take the pictures sometimes, never with the behind the scenes switched on.
