burner job

a job that one holds for a few weeks or so to scratch together some cash. when the money is no longer necessary or a new job is acquired, one will simply stop showing up.

person a - “how are you liking the coffee shop gig?”
person b - “it’s alright so far but it’s just a burner job - i’ll be gone in a week.”
