To cheat (not just in a game, but not in relationships) in an overly obvious way for little reason, if any, or to exploit an arbitrary technicallity.

"I kept telling him that a triangle with 1 side with a lenght of zero is a line, but he kept trying to cheat at Scrabble by throwing a calculus textbook at me."
