The act of hating on somebody when they're not around, usually occurring when a group of people share a common feeling, arising like a mob mentality.

Person 1: Did you see the shoes Jesse was wearing today? They were ugly as hell
Person 2: Yeah bro, he must have been drunk when he bought them.
Person 3: Why are you guys being such closet haters?
