A metal can used as a growler for taking beer away from a brewery or pub. The beer is canned on site, and the lid of the growler has a standard pop top.

I bought a crowler of a new IPA at the brew pub down the street.

An enormously large shit. The stench of a well sized "crowler" is capable of killing cancer.
