Democide

Noun: The total deaths a government causes that include circumstances that are not usually included in genocide.

Term first clearly defined in www.hawaii.edu/powerkills website by the author R.J. Rummel who for decades has done much research on the subject of various government's effects on the health of it's people from all time periods as best can be determined.

Cambodia managed to kill approximately one third of it's population in just a few years via it's democide.

a broader term than genocide, it is defined as the killing, or conspiracy to kill a member or members of a targeted group. It is not limited to a racial, ethnic, national or religious group, the way genocide is.

The Red Scare is one of the most common examples of political democide in the US from the past century.

Vietnamese Democide

A term used to refer to the democides of Vietnamese civilians during the Vietnam war by the South Vietnamese government dictatorship, America, and South Korea.

One well known Vietnamese Democide was the My Lai Massacre.

In order to stop liberators from freeing the Vietnamese, the South Vietnamese Government, America, and South Korea started a Vietnamese democide.
