flattering yourself

When you are implying something that insinuates your good or attractive, or another positive attribute.

Usually used when talking with a stuck up person, someone who’s playfully over confident or someone trying to playfully deny feeling or emotions without shutting someone down.

Person A:(playful condescending tone)“Wow, you really find and excuse to hang out with me don’t you?”
Person B:”Don’t flatter yourself”

Person 1:”you keep looking at me hehe, ik im pretty stooopppp, *giggle”
Person 2: “Ptf please stop flattering yourself you ugly bitc-“

don't flatter yourself

a very annoying catch phrase, normally said by immature freshmen, that is used to down-play the fact that the speaker of the phrase isn't as good at something as they claim they are.

It is also used to annoy the crap out of everyone around them because the speaker could not think of something more intelligent to say.

Suraj: Did you just farticulate?
Mark: oh don't flatter yourself
