Frothy is a term to describe an economic climate that is approach a "bubble". A frothy market has a excess of optimism and investment speculation, which drives up the value of seemingly value-less companies and investments like real-estate. It is said that the climate was "frothy" before the burst of the so-called "dot-com bubble", and subsequent recession.

I'd prefer a good salary over stock options; the tech industry seems a bit frothy at the moment.
