An analogy for the restrictions put upon oneself when they graduate from college, get a "career job" and a house loan.
You're living the good life, but you're stuck in a 9 to 5 world for the foreseeable future.

When a person has a high paying job that they are not used to so they spend all of their money loading themselves up with expenses and loans and are then stuck in a job they hate because they can't afford to leave it.
