Huevón

Definition:
A Castilian word that is defined by a general sense of stupidity, laziness and clumsiness, akin to implying "he who spends all his day scratching his balls or wanking".

Application:

It can be used in informal conversation amongst male friends. It’s a mildly offensive word in Spain and Mexico and frowned upon to use outside of close circles. It is used similarly to the anglophone “wanker” and the Mexican “güey”.

In Perú, Chile and surrounding countries, it is used between male peers, typically using "oye huevón"/"habla huevón" ("hey huevón"/"what's up huevón") or in 3rd person "ese huevón" ("that huevón") to refer to each other. Especially in Perú, it’s used by criollo parents to reprimand their children, denoting disappointment. There is a feminine gendered “huevona”, which is used by the upper classes amongst women and gay men, though it is offensive if a straight man uses this to refer to a woman. The variations are: “huevonazo” (a superlative huevón), “huevoncito” (insignificant, dismissive), “huevada(s)” (something stupid or insignificant), “hueviado” (passing state of huevonery/confusion), “weon/on” (very informal), “huevas” (direct insult to friends, subalterns or employees, denoting sleepiness or slowness).

In Argentina and countries that use "voz"/"vosotros", use "boludo" or "pelotudo" in place of the aforementioned "huevón", the former being less offensive than the latter and the latter being used to denote a certain level of shame to the receptor.

1.- "Habla huevón, ¿cómo estás?" (What's up bro, how are you?)
2.- "Ese huevón por donde anda?" (Where is that guy at?)
3.- "Mira huevonazo, la estás cagando" (Look dumbass, you're screwing everything up)
4.- "Me he hueviado, ¡perdón!" (I got confused, I'm sorry!)
5.- "¿Y ese huevoncito que chucha va a hacer ah?" (What is that little fuck going to do about it ?)
6.- "Estás hablando huevadas imbécil" (You're spewing bullshit you imbecile)
7.- "Oe escuchame weon" (Dude listen to me)
8.- "Ese 'on en que anda?" (What's going on with that dude?)
9.- "Putasumadre, ¡oe huevas miralo bien!" (God fucking damn it, hey idiot take another look!)
10.- "Huevona, viste la huevada que tenía puesta la flaca de toño?" (Giiiiirl, have you seen that hideous thing that Tony's gf wore?"
11.- "Te dije que apuntes bien la linterna, huevon de mierda" (I told you to point the flashlight correctly, fucking idiot)
