The response implies a certain pretence and commensurate self deprecation on the part of the respondent. Also it may be used as a barb to insinuate a pretentiousness inherent in the inciting comment or the respondent's interlocutor.

A regular in social media and journalist parlance, used to express disbelief at comments or actions that stand on pretense. Alternatively it is a barb or quip used to lampoon pretentiousness when in any way detected from an interlocutor.

A threatening statement that is so profoundly impossible that it will both amuse, confuse and terrify its recipient.
If you make that annoying noise again, "I will choke you with your own asshole!!!"
