It has a multiplicity of meanings one of them being that it's a snapshot of rural America fading past the golden hour, lost ideals of quality craftsmanship, frugality, and an era when things were repaired rather than thrown.

The wealth of farm knowledge, a rural cultural pillar, kanoogles away down the drain to be replaced with the era of plastic bullshit.
