Ice hockey terminology; when a hockey player is on a team's active roster and perfectly healthy but for whatever reason the coach decides not to put them in the lineup for a game

"Is Ryan Reaves playing tonight?"

"No, tonight Reaves will be on nacho duty for his 18th consecutive game."
