n. The birth name of somebody who has changed their name. Most commonly attributed to trans people, but can be attributed to any person who has changed their name. (See: dead name)
v. 1. To call somebody by their necronym.
v. 2. To out somebody's necronym to the public.
Don't call her by her necronym . She hasn't gone by that name in years.
A much more bourgeois sounding word for deadname. A necronym is the name being replaced (usually their birth name) by a transgender person. Derived from "Necro" meaning dead and "nym" meaning name, as in pseudonym. Sentence:
"Sally almost outed Grace by calling her by her necronym."
