New in the Truth

Used to describe a new convert of the Jehovah’s Witness religion (see definition for β€œin the Truth”).

Witnesses will often use the phrase to alert each other of a new member so that everyone knows they need to be on their best behavior.

This is my friend Jason. He’s new in the Truth.

no news is the truth

An ambiguous statement, meaning variously that all news is in some measure false, that an absence of received information on a given topic is meaningful, or that there is no greater reality than nothingness; take your pick, add your own.

"Has the jury reached a verdict yet?"
"They've been deliberating for months, and no news is the truth."
