Person 2: Oh, that's Jay. They're nonbinary, so they don't go by he/him pronouns, they go by they/them pronouns

Nonbinary refers to any gender that is not exclusively male or female. A similar term is genderqueer.
Some common nonbinary gender identities include: agender, bigender, genderfluid, androgyne, and neutrois.
It is usually considered to be under the transgender umbrella, and some nonbinary people will also identify as trans.
Fallon: You're not a girl or a boy, are you?

nonbinarys are some of the swaggiest and sexiest people. they can rock any look, feminine, masculine doesn't matter. they look swag and sexy either way.

An umbrella term for genders outside of the stereotyped gender binary. (Agender, bigender, Genderfluid, polygender, demi, etc.)
1 Vae uses she/he pronouns because she is bigender. He is considered to be under the nonbinary umbrella.
2 Oliver feels a lack in any gender at all, they have concluded they are agender. This puts Oliver under the nonbinary umbrella.

Labelling oneself as NonBinary is a pleading with one's immediate audience to acknowledge them as not heterosexual...serving to separate their identity from men and women...
