A jacket worn by an independent person to differentiate themselves from the mainstream. The opposite is a team jacket, or any other jacket that is commonly worn by the masses.

Brad: I can't find my personal jacket.
Phil: It's time to go, here, just use this Seahawks jacket.
Brad: No man! That's a team jacket, I need my personal jacket.
