Pigeon chess

Refers to having a pointless debate with somebody utterly ignorant of the subject matter, but standing on a dogmatic position that cannot be moved with any amount of education or logic, but who always proclaims victory.

Origin:
"Debating creationists on the topic of evolution is rather like trying to play chess with a pigeon; it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board, and flies back to its flock to claim victory." -- Scott D. Weitzenhoffer (From an Amazon.com book review)

Man, trying to explain to those moon landing deniers that the Apollo program was real is like playing pigeon chess -- all they do is knock the pieces over and crap on the board.

pigeon chess

comes from an anonymous quotation to the effect that "debating a (whoever) is like playing chess with a pigeon - it knocks over the peices, defecates on the board, and then flies back to its flock to brag about how it won"

He has a pigeon chess debating style.

pigeon chess

when groups play games with their pigeons (pigeons are losers who hang around a group and do everything the group tells them to because they think they are being accepted) like making their pigeons annoy eachother and even fight and it becomes a game for the entertainment of two or more groups that have pigeons

kid: i think that one group over there is playing pigeon chess with that other group cause last week one pigeon took another pigeons boxers off and threw them on the roof and today one pigeon just stole the another ones lunch

Chess Pigeon

noun.
A person who, analogously, kicks over the chess board, and struts around, acting like a winner, when nothing but a mess happened.

That fool really fumbled the presentation, then actually acted as though they saved the day...what a friggin Chess Pigeon.

Chess Pigeon

Chess Pigeon - A person suffering from the Dunning-Kruger effect.

Opening statement from britannica.com/science/Dunning-Kruger-effect
- "Dunning-Kruger effect, in psychology, a cognitive bias whereby people with limited knowledge or competence in a given intellectual or social domain greatly overestimate their own knowledge or competence in that domain relative to objective criteria or to the performance of their peers or of people in general."

IOWs, people who think they're smart, but aren't...but they don't know this due to the delusional belief they're smart. Those suffering from narcissistic traits also comes to mind.

The term 'Chess Pigeon' refers to the meme, and before it became one, apparently originated at...
rationalwiki.org/wiki/Pigeon_chess
...later becoming a meme (I like this version the best)...

"Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon...no matter how good you are, the bird is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway."

Thus such a person is a Chess Pigeon. Typically they strut around, brag and denigrate others, while actually showing how stupid they are for doing so, and often, this important information is difficult for them to comprehend, thus they continue to strut, brag and denigrate, and retain their false sense of superiority.

Typically, if you judge a person is a chess pigeon, it's best to cease arguing or conversing with them and let them remain in their delusional state where they prefer to exist.

I doubt anyone requires an example...but the site requires one.
"You're a chess pigeon."
