When a person puts up their problems on twitter to get the pity of their followers. This can also be applied to facebook and other social networking sites.
"Did you guys read Dorothy's pity tweet? So fake."
Ex of a pity tweet:
"Everyone of my friends is mad at me. #imthevictim"
