Colorado Quick Steps

A term used when referencing a case of diarrhea. It is believed that this phrase got its name by people in the 1800's who drank contaminated water that flowed through Colorado's many natural (but oftentimes unsuitable for human consumption) streams, lakes and rivers, as well as numerous other sources.

Mississippi Quick Step

A case of raging diarrhea normally resulting in the performance of a "buckle shuffle" done at the helm of a toilet, after eating spicy food.

Oh man, I ate those hot BBQ potato chips and couldn't leave the house, because they gave me a case of Mississippi Quick Step. I almost didn't make it, as my belt hemmed me up when I was doing the buckle shuffle in front of the toilet!

Tennessee Quick Step: a term used by Civil War soldiers for diarrhea. The person afflicted would have to suddenly run or 'quick step' into the woods to take a shit.

Green Apple Quick Step

Referring to the quick step dance move seemingly taken on by people who have to run to the bathroom with explosive diarrhea. Here say suggests that green apples can induce such a predicament - hence the moniker.

This is popular slang in the medical community when referring to patients who have such a reaction to medication such as lactulose given to patients with liver disease.

In popular culture, this was also the name of a 90's grunge band from Seattle.

Dr. Jason prescribed lactulose to Steve who promptly did the Green Apple Quick Step making it to the bathroom with a photo finish.

Diarrhea. This is a southern term. It comes from people who ate apples when they were green, and not yet red. Then thye would obviously run to the toilet.

"I told that boy he'd get the Green-Apple-Quick-Step from them berries!"
