rock-n-roll

Here's a litte history for you all. Many people don't know that the term rock-n-roll was also a slang word for sex or sexual intercourse in the late 1940s and early 1950s. It was particularly used by teens or the younger people in those days similar to the way people today use the word "freak". Just listen to some of the lyrics and titles of the past 2 decades. "Rock you all night, Rock the boat, I'll rock your world." Because of the sexual reference the terem implied, it resulted in on of the early reasons why conservative adults back in those days disapproved of the rock-n-roll as a type of main stream music. It was especially in the early 1950's that the number of young people (under 25)in the US who used a car or truck as basis for transportation increased drastically. There-fore more people were having sex in automobiles. And when 2 people drove to make out areas and got "it" on the car would then rock back and forth. Thus many people referred to having sex as rock-n-roll. Example is below.

Cindy and I were "rock-n-rolling all night.

rock-n-roll

this can mean one of a number of things

1) (verb: to): to shag and fuck someone silly, to fuck their brains out i.e. to shag them until they can't pronounce their name, lol.

2) (noun): a new fad or trend engaged in by youths that adults don't seem to understand or even appreciate , since they can't grasp the essence of the said fad or trend.

3) (verb): to get involved with the wrong crowd, and as a result to drop out of high school/university, trade school and get involved in criminal activities.

father: son, what is this new ridiculous game you're playing, or seem to be playing, on your Game Boy, 24/7 these days? you know the one, with the little green character?

son: dad, lol! I love your description of modern technology; this game that I am playing on my Game Boy, is a new rock-n-roll. The game is called Zelda, just like the little green character you mentioned. Dad, you can be so funny sometimes. (son: after a pause) : Dad, be thankful, that im not the type of rotten apple modern son that likes to rock-n-roll after school, in order to become a self-made mobster. roflcopter

Rock 'n' roll

Originally a black slang term for fornication with vigour (sex). The term was adopted by early rock n' roll DJs (mostly white) who used it to describe the hybrid R&B/Country we have all come to know and drink beer to. The term also probably contributed to the parental angst of the 1950's adding to the "evil" reputation of those "nasty rock n' rollers".

That woman wore me out... All she wanted to do was rock and roll all night long!

Rock 'n' Roll

The phenomenon which began in the 50's with the combination of rhythm and blues, country music, and gospel. It was pioneered by Chuck Berry, transformed by The Beatles, hardened by Led Zeppelin and AC/DC, and through the course of the 70's evolved into the pinnacle of musical glory.

Since then, it has lost the "Roll" and degenerated into "Rock" a generic term for all manners of crappy, modern, guitar driven music that has nothing to do with the messages, anthems, and ideals of old. Rather than professing a belief in the "Livin' easy, livin' free" lifestyle professed by AC/DC and their contemporaries, "Rock" now aims to piss and moan as much as possible whilst backed by horrible, rehashed guitar and pre-pubescent vocals about slutty girlfriends and cannabus.

Rock 'n' roll

The music that made it well worth living before the early 1990s.

Now, instead of rock 'n' roll, we have to endure the ear-bleeding likes of rap, pop, and techno.

Rock and Roll is not just a genre of music. Beyond that, it is a philosophy, attitude, and way of life. The purpose of Rock 'n Roll as opposed to other types of music, is to rebel. True Rock asserts that we need to stick it to The Man and Rage against The Machine (see The Man, see also The Machine). Rock and Roll is a way to disent The Establishment, and somewhere along the line we forgot that. Some believe that all you need to rock is righteous outrage, when in fact you also need talent and inspiration.

Rock 'n Roll isn't dead. It's just that it's going through a dry-spell.
Besides, it won't be dead until there are none left willing to Stick it to The Man.

Wearing a pink shirt is the most un-Rock 'n Roll thing you can do.

Those who hate Rock 'n Roll hate living and, indeed, life itself.
